Cockroaches & bed bugs

Roaches & Bed Bugsgone, not just fewer.

Two of the hardest pests to beat on your own — and the two where doing it halfway usually means paying twice.

If you think cockroaches only inhabit filthy homes, you're mistaken. These creatures have been around for more than 300 million years, long before humans. Once people appeared, roaches knew they had a dependable food source. Since then they've followed humans wherever we've spread, and now the urban jungle is their natural habitat. Not even the cleanest house is immune.

They're remarkable animals. A cockroach can cover 50 times its body length in a second — the equivalent of a human running 180 miles an hour. German cockroaches will eat almost anything, from crumbs to cardboard, and can go a long time without food. In the U.S., the German cockroach is the most common roach in homes, apartment houses, restaurants and hotels, and they're usually brought in on belongings, luggage, boxes or packages. Bring in one egg capsule and you can go from one roach to a houseful in less than a couple of weeks.

Killing the few roaches that wander into a trap is not control. Even if every adult outside the nest is killed, eggs inside it will hatch and start the problem over — which is why we bait the nest itself rather than spraying at whatever is visible.

Bed bugs are small, oval, non-flying insects. Adults reach 5–7 mm, while nymphs are as small as 1.5 mm. Their flat bodies can be mistaken for ticks or small cockroaches. They feed by sucking blood, are reddish brown, and appear more reddish after a blood meal. Getting rid of them is not easy and requires a professional: low-odor sprays, dusts and aerosols applied to every place the bugs are seen and every place they could crawl or hide.

We'll inspect your home for shells, fecal stains and egg cases hidden in the cracks of beds, mattresses and sofas, and tell you whether a mattress can be disinfected or must be discarded. We may also recommend deep-cleaning — scrubbing infested surfaces, dismantling bed frames, filling cracks, encasing mattresses and vacuuming crevices.

How we treat them

  • Pheromone traps — poison-free and safe around children and pets
  • Bait — targets the nest, not just the roaches that wander out
  • Non-toxic remedies — a green option that reaches cracks, crevices and carpets
  • Bed bug inspection for shells, fecal stains and egg cases
  • Deep-cleaning guidance plus treatment where it's needed

One egg capsule can turn into a houseful in under two weeks. Getting all of them — eggs included — is the whole job.

Roaches or bed bugs?Don't wait a fortnight to act.

The sooner we get out there, the smaller the problem and the cheaper the fix.
